Mr. Legum is always happy to answer the questions of his clients and potential clients. In order to address some of the issues he is often asked about, he has provided the following list of frequently asked questions along with their answers.

Q: How long have you been practicing law?
A: I have been an attorney in private practice in the Annapolis area, for over 26 years.

Q: What types of law do you handle the most?
A: I have significant experience in personal injury law, representing clients injured in motor vehicle accidents, at work and other injuries. I frequently represent clients in cases involving employment, social security disability and traffic law. The other areas that come to mind are criminal, traffic, and union law but I handle almost any kind of
general litigation.

Q: How do you attract clients?
A: Most of my clients are referred to me by former clients. I find people who come to me by “word of mouth” are more comfortable because someone they know has had a good experience with our office. Also after 26 years in private practice, the reputation you build with your community attracts clients.

Q: How do you keep clients informed about their cases?
A: Anytime something significant develops in a case we contact the clients directly by telephone. We also send all of our clients copies of all correspondence and court fillings. Finally, we have an 'open door' policy, so anytime a client has a question or concern all they need to do is drop by and we make sure its taken care of.

Q: With respect to personal injury cases, what are some of the considerations people should be aware of?
A: Insurance company representatives will try to contact you directly, so it is important to get legal representation right away. Your attorney can help you make sure that the accident is fully investigated, photos of the crime scene are taken early on and witness statements recorded. This is the only way to ensure that you will be fully compensated.

Q: How important is trial experience with respect to personal injury cases.
A: Trial experience is of critical importance because insurance companies are not making adequate offers. That means that more and more of these cases are ending up in court. If you want to receive full compensation you need an attorney who is willing both to secure a settlement or, if necessary, be prepared to go to trial.
